Cake in a Cup Recipe

I'm not sure where I picked up this recipe, but it is a great after school snack or a quick dessert.

Mix one box of angel food cake mix with
one box of any flavor cake mix...
place 1/3 C. of mix into a coffee cup...
(save the rest of mix in a tub for another time)
add 3 Tblsp water to the mix in the cup...
stir...
microwave for 1 minute
Done!

Add any extra items you would like...I like chocolate chips and 3 Tblsp coffee instead of water!

Enjoy and have a great week!

New artwork for Etsy shop

I haven't updated the blog with my artwork lately.
Today is the day!  :)

Busy week.
Excited for my youngest son's performance in his junior high variety show.
Maybe some family photo updates soon?
It has been a while.
Maybe I will try some new Photoshop Actions,
brushes or tutorials to include with the photos!

Hope you are having a great week!

Just in time for your last minute Valentine gifts!

Fingerless Mittens From An Old Wool Sweater

These were just fun and fast to make.
I had a 100% wool sweater and wanted extra wear.
Felt your sweater first so that it can be cut without raveling.
This above site will give you instructions for felting your wool sweaters. Plus, the book featured, The Sweater Chop Shop by Chrispina Ffrench is wonderful. The link to her Etsy shop is below.

Your sweater will shrink quite a bit but the sleeves should still fit.
My sweater was still very stretchy so I had to sew about a half inch seam and curve it in tighter under my thumb knuckle.
I recommend trying them on before you trim the V notch or the side.
Just in case you have to redo the stitching!
Turn right side out.
(Just click on the photo to see more info.)

That's it!
I added hearts just for fun.
I'm looking for more ways to use the rest of the sweater and the shirt from the previous post.
So, more to come!

Have a great day
and thanks for stopping by!

Apron Tutorial - Make an apron from a shirt

I love this....I plan on making more. This apron belonged to my oldest son and this is my first attempt at this project.
I got the idea from Pinterest but I found the site was written in a foreign language and had no instructions.
So, I made my own. :)

I typed the instructions in Photoshop and I am sorry they came out so small on this site. If you click on the photo it should pull up larger and you can "save as" then print.

Since creating this, I found another site that has also created a tutorial. I must have missed it in my original search. I have included the link below.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Many Blessings!!!  Laura
